Nationwide Orange Bike Rides, 30 April: 

Orange Bike Ride in a town near you!

Across the country Nederlanders  are organising family friendly Orange Bike Rides to promote cycling as a sustainable means of transport for all of Aotearoa New Zealand to enjoy.

Where?

Orange Bike Rides will take place in the following locations:

Auckland

Starting at Auckland’s Ponsonby Cruising Club, the Orange Bike Ride will follow a flat, bike-friendly road along the waterfront that returns back. The bike ride tour totals 10km – making it perfect for families.

Dress up and decorate your bike in ORANGE to be in to win fantastic prizes.

Bring your bike or borrow a bike FOR FREE from BEAM.

Wellington

Wellington! We know you love dressing up, so, dress to impress and decorate your bike in orange, the national colour of the Netherlands!

A fun-filled event for all ages, starting and finishing at Queens Wharf by the TSB Arena with a loop around Point Jerningham, Roseneath.

Blenheim

Dressed in orange, enjoy a complimentary tompouce / tompoes before a beautifully relaxed ride around the vineyards!

Christchurch

Dress in orange, do our quiz and win great prizes! A fun family event for all of Aotearoa New Zealand to enjoy!

Start on Corner Ilam Road/University Drive and Finish at Hagley Golf Club.

Meet up at the Harbour Mouth Molars on Portsmouth Drive and cycle the new bike trail to Macandrew Bay.

Hamilton

Three courses, (10km,  15km or 55 km)  start and finish at Zenders Café and Venue.

Wear as much orange as possible. Spot prizes throughout the day!

The Hutt

Celebrate cycling at Avalon House in the Hutt. Ride there, dressed in orange.

Free cycle skills, confidence course, bike checks. Fun & family-friendly.

Start and finish at the Otaihanga Domain.

Wear orange. Do the course as many times as you want!

Nelson

Choose to either follow a 12,5 km off-road bike ride from the Nightingale Library, Tahunanui to the Trafalgar Centre dressed in orange or join the kids' friendly festivities and bike ride along the Maitai.

New Plymouth

Start and finish: Grass area next to the Wind Wand Playground.

Have fun in orange, stimulate cycling across generations and celebrate the bond between Kiwis and Cloggies.

Waiheke Island

Time: 2pm - 4pm

Gather from 1:30pm at Bikebox Waiheke - Behind the Sustainability Centre - 0 Mako Street, Oneroa.

Come a bit earlier if you would like a tune up at Bikebox - the Waiheke community Bike Repair Hub.

Wear orange & decorate your bike! We’ll be riding in the Oneroa/Blackpool/Surfdale area on a special ‘Orange’ mission and we’ll return back to the Sustainability Centre for Dutch treats and games!

Rotorua

* Sunday 1 May*

A fun, social bike ride with stops for coffee, lunch and even a beverage or two.

Meet at the Dutch Club in Rotorua. Pay your own way, wear something orange or deck your bike out in orange, or both! Prizes to be won.

Any bike will do, you can take your friends, they don't need to be Dutch.
